Our History
Bynx was born from inside the automotive industry — created by experts who understood the operational complexities of funding and running fleets. Founded in 1988 in Johannesburg, South Africa, the business began by developing bespoke software solutions for leading organisations.
Throughout the 1990s, Bynx expanded across Africa and launched its first international implementations in 1993. A key milestone came in 1997 with the release of our first Vehicle Leasing and Fleet Management software, followed by the establishment of UK operations in 1998. A year later, we rebranded as Bynx, and by 2000 we had delivered our first UK implementation, marking the beginning of our global journey.
Over the next two decades, Bynx continued to grow steadily:
- Early 2000s: Offices opened in Australia and the USA, and the platform expanded across Europe.
- 2007: Launch of the single release platform, enabling multi-country, multi-market coverage.
- 2010s: Bynx entered the Middle East, Scandinavia, and Latin America, achieving ISO27001 certification and launching innovations like Bynx MI and the car configurator.
- 2018: Bynx celebrated its 30th anniversary, with a strong global footprint and a continually evolving platform.
Today, after 35 years of innovation, Bynx operates in over 20 countries, supporting organisations ranging from start-ups to multinational leasing companies, OEMs, and in-house fleet operators.
Our headquarters in the UK, supported by a secondary operation in Australia and micro hubs across Europe and South Africa, give us a deep understanding of regional markets and enable us to deliver responsive, global support.
Many of our customers have partnered with us for decades, our longest relationship spans over 20 years, a testament to the trust, stability, and value we provide.
